Catherine Carmyllie: Creative Kits
Creative Kits
Catherine Carmyllie formally trained in textile art & design gaining a 1st class BA from Huddersfield University. Following her degree, she worked for around 15 years in the fashion industry spending much time sourcing textiles from South East Asia – China & Bangladesh.
Around 5 years ago Catherine became a full-time artist & maker covering; drawing, mixed media painting, textile art (felting, dyeing, stitching) and printing (lino print and mono gel printing).
“Selling work via galleries and art fairs – and teaching – has provided me some income. Lino printing has been my most popular class taken by students. When Covid arrived, I was forced to move my classes online. To help students I started sending out print kits. Almost 2000 kits later this is now a little business for me. I sell print kits and textile home kits through my Etsy shop – and provide free video tutorials on YouTube to guide people as they embark on creative projects.”
Catherine will be taking part in Wirral open studios this coming September.
